So, what is unique about The Vintage Wash House?
Come and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of a bygone era when you step inside our vintage inspired emporium. Indulge your senses with lovely wash day smells of soap, lavender and chamomile and enjoy browsing around our delightful shop whilst listening to the nostalgic music of the 1940’s. We’d like to take you on a trip down Memory Lane and our aim is to provide you with good old fashioned customer service.
And where did it start?
My name is Linda Peake and I launched my business at a craft stall in May 2013 where we started selling handcrafted dishcloths, vintage-inspired home-wares and gifts. Since then, our product lines have developed to include traditional cleaning products such as soap flakes, white vinegar, soda crystals, laundry starch and traditional linen scrim (a fantastic natural product that removes those irritating streaks from windows and mirrors) to name but a few. In February this year we moved to shop premises in Court Lane which created more room to grow and enabled us to expand our stock to include vintage linens and handcrafts. A big part of our business ethos is to source products locally wherever possible and we also offer tips and advice on how to use our environmentally friendly traditional cleaning products. We look forward to seeing you soon or why not visit our website: www.thevintagewashhouse.co.uk
